A meeting in person or over the phone with the client to discuss preliminary ideas, ideally a photo session (included in the fee) with the subject would be arranged at this time. Half of the fee is due before beginning the piece; the balance is due upon delivery. A time frame will be agreed upon during initial meeting, which varies depending on number of commissions scheduled, but can generally be completed in 3 months.
A quick meeting to take photos of subject in natural light at an agreed upon location. Ideally the artist would take the photos herself to insure the right elements for the best possible painting, but if a photo session with the subject/s cannot be arranged, suitable existing photograph/s will be agreed upon.
The client will choose for the painting to be created using either a flat linen or canvas panel (to be framed by client) or a professionally hand crafted wood panel (to be hung directly on wall.) High quality oil paints and mediums are used to ensure archival, heirloom quality. Portraits drawn in charcoal and graphite are also available.
Fees for portraits depend upon size, number of subjects, and material (oil or charcoal/graphite.) Paintings start at $600 and small drawings at $150. For questions and more information on sizes and pricing please feel free to call or email.
